Death is not only a medical fact. It raises the question of judgment — what happens when this life ends, and whether a person is ready to meet God. That fear can last a lifetime.
Jesus spoke plainly: if people do not believe that He is the Son of God, they die in their sins. He also promised that if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. The gospel is that He died and rose again so that whoever believes in Him is forgiven — receiving not the spirit of bondage again to fear, but the Spirit of adoption.
